I’m about a week into my summer internship, and it’s been a whirlwind of fun (summerstock theatre slows down for no one). Settling into a new place is hard, but I have found so many friendly faces – and thrown myself into so many things that remind me of home – that I’m slowly but surely carving out a space for myself. I suppose it doesn’t hurt to have the beach and cute cafes, like the one above, right down the street.
Outside of work, I’m currently digging into – and absolutely loving – Morgan Matson’s latest, Save the Date, as well as re-reading Evicted, an account of homelessness in America by sociologist Matthew Desmond. Both wholeheartedly deserve the praise they’ve been given, and I’m excited to wrap them up this week.
