Eye on Art / 03

Eye on ArtDecember brings out my creative side, as I whip up homemade gifts and craft cute cards all month-long. As I was working on this edition of Eye on Art, I found it’s no different for professional illustrators and artists! Since it is the holiday season, my choices all have Christmas or winter themed designs in their portfolio. Whether it was their terrific typography or spot-on color palettes, these three artists stand out in their field. What art, holiday-themed or otherwise, have you been loving lately?

Anna BondYou may recognize Anna Bond’s artwork, as she’s the creative director and co-founder of the successful stationary company, Rifle Paper Co. She designed the brand’s 2014 holiday collection, and, as one look at the products above will tell you, it is full of everything she does best: cheerful color combinations, whimsical patterns, and adorable illustrations! I love the wrapping paper myself – how cute would presents look under the tree wrapped in reindeer and gifts?! {website}

Michael MullanWith the playful type and festive color combinations, Michael Mullan’s artwork captures the holiday spirit perfectly! The simplistic lines and cheerful sayings of his art evoke the season’s magic. He has a number of holiday collections, all of which have a distinct vintage vibe, but a select few are shown above; I personally love the “Here Comes Santa” print. {website}

Alex SmithFinally, I can’t help by smile when looking at Alex Smith’s holiday illustrations. His animals have the traditions of the season down, from picking out the best Christmas tree to caroling on a snowy night :) His unique style fits well with children book illustrations, but I wouldn’t say no to having one displayed on my walls during December either! {website}

Have a wonderful day!
