My Thoughts: This is a review long overdue, considering that I saw it on Thanksgiving, but in all truth, it kind of left me speechless {in the best way possible!}. Seriously, Frozen blew me away, and I am already hoping that we go see it again. In my personal opinion, 2013 wasn’t the best year for movies, but Frozen made me rethink it a bit :) Have you seen Frozen, or are you planning to?

Anna and her sister Elsa have had a strained relationship since they were little girls. They don’t even know how to carry a normal conversation together! Separated as children because of Elsa’s wintery powers that can harm others, the two sisters are reunited on the day of Elsa’s coronation, but unfortunately, everything goes downhill from there. I love the plot of this movie. Disney hasn’t really gone down the route of “sisterhood” before, so I liked that they took the chance to explore it a bit. The romantic aspect was there, as in any Disney movie, but the love of family had a much greater purpose. Kind of fun, right?!

The characters were lovely – developed and entertaining at the same time! I really liked that Anna wasn’t the perfect princess. She was clumsy and made mistakes, but in the end, had a HUGE heart, which is the most important thing. Elsa was strong too. She was a much different person than Anna, but she still showed that having a big heart is really important. One of the best parts of the movies was seeing how their relationship as sisters changed and grew. Having a little sister myself, I know how fun having a sister can be, but I also know how fights can happen. I liked seeing how each girl adapted to the events of the plot. Other characters were quite a delight to watch as well. I adored Olaf the Snowman. He was the best, and he wasn’t overly annoying like some sidekicks can be. He added just the right amount of humor!

The songs of Frozen weren’t out of this world, but a few were still good enough to make me consider buying them on iTunes. My personal favorite was the opening song between Anna and Elsa. It set up the story perfectly and flowed nicely into the coronation scene!

Overall, Frozen was such a delight, and I am sure I will be watching it again and again. While I wait for it to come out on DVD however, I can listen to Elsa’s song, “Let it Go” for as long as I want here. Yay!

Pros: Entertaining and developed storyline, plus a strong, well-written plot. The supporting characters also added to the story, instead of distracting from it.

Cons: Nothing!

Heads Up: It’s a pretty clear-cut family friendly film.

Overall: I give it 5 stars {*****} and I recommend it for ages 4 and up.
