Time Between Us: A Book Review

Time Between Us

Time Between Us by Tamara Ireland Stone

Summary: Anna and Bennett were never supposed to meet: she lives in 1995 Chicago and he lives in 2012 San Francisco. But Bennett’s unique ability to travel through time and space brings him into Anna’s life, and with him, a new world of adventure and possibility. As their relationship deepens, they face the reality that time might knock Bennett back where he belongs, even as a devastating crisis throws everything they believe into question. Against a ticking clock, Anna and Bennett are forced to ask themselves how far they can push the bounds of fate—and what consequences they can bear in order to stay together.

My Thoughts: This book was flat-out amazing. I adored it in every sense – the characters, the plot, the writing. I haven’t read in OUTstanding book in a while, so,it was really nice to find a novel that was engaging and beautifully written.

In this story, we meet Anna, a teenager living in 1995. One day, she meets an interesting book named Bennett, and she gradually falls in love with him. The catch? Bennett is from 2012. Right off the bat, Tamara Ireland Stone created a love story with a twist. I wanted to know who this Bennett was, what he was doing, why he was there in the first place! Seriously, the author did a really good job “setting the stage.”

Anna was such a strong, mostly developed character. She had her flaws, but I liked her as a person :) I think that she was a solid protagonist, and her narration kept the story moving. I felt that her voice was evident throughout the novel, and it didn’t get lost with all the time travel information. Bennett was developed as well, and again, his actions and dialogue kept the story moving. I liked them both, and I enjoyed their connection.

The plot was very entertaining and moved quickly. I don’t know if it is award-worthy in that sense, but it was still good. The only thing I would have liked to see was more clarification regarding the time traveling. It could get confusing, and because it was a major part of the story, I could see how some might get lost.

Overall, this was SO very good, and it is wish-list worthy! :)

Pros: Strong characters and plot.

Cons: The time traveling part could get confusing.

Heads Up: Nothing, really.

Overall: I give it 5 stars {*****} and I recommend it for ages 13 and up.

Have a lovely rest of your Tuesday!
