my top ten books to read in a day

Hello!

Bookfessions

You know those can’t-put-down books? The ones where you feel you’ve only been reading for thirty minutes, but you look at the clock, and a good three hours have gone by? It’s like BAM! and you realize that, yes, there’s school tomorrow, and yes, you will regret it in homeroom, but hey, it was worth it to find out what happened. I wouldn’t know the feeling because I don’t do that at ALL :) Anyhoo, I took a break last week, but I’m back with The Broke and the Bookish’s weekly feature Top Ten Tuesday. {let’s all ignore that it is Wednesday} This week’s theme was Top Ten Books to Read in One Day. Not all of these are award-winning, but I devoured them all in a matter of hours. Here are my selected ten in no specific order…

The list is a bit YA heavy. I apologize in advance ;)

The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins >> Do I really need to explain?

Sketchy Behavior

Sketchy Behavior by Erynn Mangum >> The witty and sarcastic personality of Kate + the unique mystery = total perfection. {Here is my review.}

The Education of Hailey Kendrick

The Education of Hailey Kendrick by Eileen Cook >> Hailey and I clicked from the very first page. She is one of those memorable main characters, not to mention, that the plot is hilarious! {although I also exclaimed in the middle of the book, “NO! Don’t do it!” Interpret it as you wish :)}

The Extraordinary Secrets of April, May, & June

The Extraordinary Secrets of April, May & June by Robin Benway >> I don’t know what to say. I just really like it! Moving on…

Just One Wish

Just One Wish by Janette Rallison >> Janette Rallison is just one of those authors that make you want to keep reading. Just One Wish is the first out of two of her books that I fell in love with. The story is SO sweet!

The Mystery of the Third Lucretia (A Kari and Lucas Mystery)

The Mystery of the Third Lucretia by Susan Runholdt >> I stayed up way past my bedtime to finish this. Like-under-the-covers-and-trying-to-read-as-fast-as-you-can staying up past your bedtime. Hehe.

Gilda Joyce, Psychic Investigator

Gilda Joyce: Psychic Investigator by Jennifer Allison >> Gilda Joyce was another one of my earliest loves, and I will continue to read about her as long as I can! Gilda’s antics and embarrassing experiences will make you cringe and/or laugh, but it’s the well-developed mystery that makes it so good.

Five Flavors of Dumb

Five Flavors of Dumb by Antony John >> Can I just mention how much I <3 this book?! I ripped through this, and would read it again if I had the chance. Meanwhile, I will be waiting for the release of Thou Shall Not Road Trip. {Back to my first few weeks of blogging :) My review can be found here.}

Wonderstruck

Wonderstruck by Brain Selznick >> The combination of pictures and the story makes this book move incredibly fast. Although the pacing was rather quick, I was still amazed at the amount of detail. {Catch my short review here.}

If I Stay

If I Stay by Gayle Forman >> I cried at the end. It was that sad. Nevertheless, it is fabulously written and one of the better young adult novels out there. {The sequel was equally good, but it was slower than If I Stay.}

Bella :)
